I found three unique facts about human trafficking. It is a modern day form of slavery. It's the fastest growing criminal industry in the world. Also, according to the National Human Rights Center in California, there are currently about 10,000 forced laborers in the U.S.
Elements of human trafficking On the basis of the definition given in the Trafficking in Persons Protocol, it is evident that trafficking in persons has three constituent elements;
The Act (What is done)
Recruitment, transportation, transfer, harbouring or receipt of persons
The Means (How it is done)
Threat or use of force, coercion, abduction, fraud, deception, abuse of power or vulnerability, or giving payments or benefits to a person in control of the victim
The Purpose (Why it is done)
For the purpose of exploitation, which includes exploiting the prostitution of others, sexual exploitation, forced labour, slavery or similar practices and the removal of organs.
To ascertain whether a particular circumstance constitutes trafficking in persons, consider the definition of trafficking in the Trafficking in Persons Protocol and the constituent elements of the offense, as defined by relevant domestic legislation.
In addition to the criminalization of trafficking, the Trafficking in Persons Protocol requires criminalization also of:
· Attempts to commit a trafficking offence
· Participation as an accomplice in such an offence
· Organizing or directing others to commit trafficking.
1. it was a modern day of slavery. 2. the population is attemping people to become trafficking. 3. transportation. i agree with casey there are currently about 10,000 forced laborers in the U.S. -Siera-
human trafikking is a modern-day form of slavery. There are about 600,000 to 800,000 victims are annually trafickked across the international borders worldwide. Trafickkers use force, fraud, and coercion to get men, woman, and children to engage in labor exploitation, such as dimestic servitude, sweatshop factories, and migrabt agricultural work. I agree with whitney there is three elements in trafickking. I agree with
Unique Facts: - second largest and fastest growing criminal industry in the world - it's a form of modern day slavery - traffickers make profit, selling their victims for: labor, services, or commercial sex
Comment to other posts: It's crazy that human traffickers also do this to sell organs... so messed up
One thing that I found out about human trafficking is that it is an illegal trade in human beings for the purposes of Sexual exploition Or forced labor. I also found out that it is the fastest Growing criminal industry in the world. And it is tied with the illegal arms industry. Humantrafficing.org
And on caseys comment I think that it is sad there is 10,000 forced laborers in the u.s today. We shouldn't have slavery or anything close to it in our world today.
three things i found on human trafficking, is that there is apporximately 27 million slaves around the world, about half are under 18, and there is only one shelter for 7-9 people for trafficking victims. i got my facts from dosomething.org
In comment to the one who did not know a lot about human trafficking: It's been an issue for the past millenia, and, at times, a constant issue for debate. It relates back to the slave trade and, while many civilized countries around the world have banned it, it is still a highly profitable business to the rest of the world.
The average cost of a slave in countries around the world is $90 (USD)
There are approximately 27 million slaves around the world that we know of. This number may be grossly underestimating.
Even children, often for sexual needs, are subject to human trafficking and, extensively, abuse.
Unique Facts: + second largest and fastest growing criminal industry in the world + it's a form of modern day slavery + traffickers make profit, selling their victims for: labor, services, or commercial sex
3 Facts I learned about human trafficking are 1)Traffickers often prey on people who are hoping for a better life, lack employment opportunities, have an unstable home life, or have a history of sexual abuse. 2)Traffickers are motivated primarily by the goal of making money. 3)Victims experience a loss of freedom and exploitation at the hands of their traffickers who buy and sell them.

I have heard about human trafficking before but i didn't know it was a large industry. I agree with alexis that it is evil and no one should have to be bought, sold, and used like a product.
I learned that human trafficking is most common in Asia and Africa, that there are millions of victims and that it usually involves sexual exploitation. I agree with Casey about it being the fastest growing criminal industry
I knew what human trafficking was, but I never knew how prevalent it was still to this day. There are more than 30 million slaves in the world today. And I couldn't believe that there are more slaves then there once was during height of the Trans-Atlantic slave trade. Finally I never knew that human trafficking was most common in Asia and Africa. I thought it would have been in Europe because of red light districts, and there are always reports about human trafficking in Russia. Caitlan Toste mentioned that some people do this to sell organs? I don't know how anyone would be willing to join human trafficking or force others to be involved with it,no matter how desperate someone was.
Learning more about human trafficking showed me that our society has to enforce this subject more in the future. Its the fastest growing criminal industry in our country, and its growing. Basically it is a modern day slavery, and it needs to stop before it gets out of control
Human trafficking is explition and illegal. Its one of the biggest crimal problem next to drug trafficking. Traffickers even make money from women, children, and even men.
i just found out what human trafficking was and i am shocked...i never new that there was still slaves in the day and time.I found that its is common in asia, and countries like that. the people that they steel could be for many reasons...some for sex, organs, and more.
-It is estimated that 14,500 to 17,500 people, primarily women and children, are trafficked to the U.S. annually. -The average cost of a slave around the world is $90 -There is only one shelter in the U.S. designed specifically to meet the needs of trafficking victims, and it currently only houses a total of seven to nine victims.
I agree with sam that we have to enforce more work into abolishing any kind of human trafficking.
The act of trading humans is an extreme act of cruelty and modern day slavery. It's most common in the Asian-pacific-islands. They will trade women and children for money.

1) Human trafficking is modern day slavery. 2) It is the fastest growing criminal industry in the world. 3) Victims of human trafficking are forced into labor or sexual exploitation.
I've found out that the process of human trafficking is nothing short of slavery. Some forms of human trafficking include prostitution, and slave labor. Human trafficking is an underground industry that is mostly hidden from normal society, but needs to be put to an end. I agree with Mike.
1)The average cost of a slave around the world is $90. 2) It is estimated that there are approximately 27 million slaves around the world. 3)Around half of trafficking victims in the world are under the age of 18.
when many people take trips to say, the beautiful city of Paris, criminal organizations have scouts, lookouts, looking for people. Teenage girls in particular, they kidnap, drug, and transport them to places all over europe and turn them into sex slaves. Even in our own country of the United States, young girls are kidnapped and sold off as sex slaves to the highest bidder. It is unbelieveable what the human race is capable of doing to eachother. i comepletely agree with mike, the idea of humans selling eachother for money makes me sick.

It is estimated that there are approximately 27 million slaves around the world. Around half of trafficking victims in the world are under the age of 18. Women who have been trafficked for the purpose of sexual exploitation experience a significantly higher rate of HIV and other STDs, tuberculosis, and permanent damage to their reproductive systems.
Trafficking victims normally don't get help because they think that they or their families will be hurt by their traffickers, or that they will be deported. More than 2/3 of sex trafficked children suffer additional abuse at the hands of their traffickers. Around half of trafficking victims in the world are under the age of 18.
