Week 6: Flow

Please post your thoughts after watching the movies "Flow" and "Tapped".

Does it make you feel differently about bottled water?

What do you think about companies owning water?

  1. My thoughts on the movie Flow was, water is treated more like a property rather than a resource. The fresh water is dwindling on the idea of politics, pollution, human rights, and the world water cartel.

  2. After watching both movies, it makes me question our society today. How can they even think that they can own water? OR that they can sell bottled water that isn't even cleaner than the water we can get from our on tap for free? It just seems crazy to me, that these big businesses, can only see the money in it, and not care that they are robbing us as long as they can make a profit.

  3. I agree with Cait.toste why do you have to pay five bucks to get water. No person, thing or animal can live without water so why do we have yo pay ofr that basic need. People die somewhere when they cant get water.

  4. After watching these movies it does make me feel different about drinking bottled water and how it is cleaner than the water that comes out of our tap. It just seems weird that these people only care about money and not peoples lives.

  5. I never knew before that bottle water had the same quality as tap water. The fact that the water bottle industries market it as a cleaner, purer thing just to make money is terrible. Water is a resource like Alexis said, that we need to life off of. So why are we charging so much for it and polluting it with the plastic bottle around them when we can drink from the tap or take thermoses to go? I'm now going to definitely try harder to reduce my carbon foot print and use less bottled waters.

  6. When i was watching the video on bottled water i learned new information. I never new that you shouldnt re-use bottles after using them. I think taht companies shouldnt owe anything for water. Water is something that is natural and should be free. I also agree with Renee, i never new that quality tap water was in bottled waters.

  7. I always thought bottle water was better for you and wasn't the same thing as tap, but the movie showed that water is water. How the buisness markets its 'better' and bottled water is beyond rediculous. People are wasting there money! Why do we keep buying plastic water bottles? From watching the movie I'm going to try to bring my own special water bottle to save pollution & save money. Companies shouldn't own something that is so natrual that we all need to live!

  8. After watching "Flow" and "Tapped" it does make me feel differently about bottled water. Now i've learned it's basically just tap water and knowing that I can save more money by not buying it. I agree with Renee that we can use less bottles of water and just put water in our own bottles to reduce our carbon footprint.

  10. I agree that water needs to be treated less like property and more like everyone's to have.

  11. Despite the fact that water has been commonly viewed throughout history as an endless resource, we are currently running the risk of a massive conflict over the future control of fresh water left in the world.-Chris Lansing

  12. i think peolpe take advantage of the water we use and drink. we need to start saving it because people never know when were going to run out.

    ReplyDelete
  13. i am amazed at how many people spend 5 dollars for bottled water when we are fortunate enough to get it for free, unlike some countries.

    ReplyDelete
  14. i agree that water should not be considered a property or subtance rather than a natural resource that is available to all of us.

    ReplyDelete
  15. after watching flow and tapped, i saw how bottled water is the same and sometimes worse than tap water. its wrong for companies to just take water and charge people for it, when anyone can get water for free on their own.

    ReplyDelete
  16. i thought it was good to reuse bottles of water..i guesss nooottt

    ReplyDelete
  17. You know how they say recyle, reuse i always thought it was good to reuse water bottles. I agree with emily i never thought that bottled water was the same as tap or sometimes even worse.

  18. This made me rethink how safe water really is it showed me that reusing water bottles was extremly unsafe. and bring me to the question why do they put chemicals in the bottles.

  19. I think we have to be more careful about where we get our water. Instead of just going out and buying it we need to reconsider the business behind it and where they get it from. We also need to be careful with tap water, it may or not be healthy for us.

  20. From watching those videos i decided that i will never fill up an empty water bottle agian, or any other bottle. I never knew that it was bad for you and i think that people should stop. i also agree with feilcia.

  21. the fact that bottled water is just tap water doesnt make me think about it to much because i usually dont buy any unless im out or rushing for sports. the companies are just trying to sell something we dont need because we already have enough.

    ReplyDelete
  22. After watching the movies i dont think i will ever fill up an empty water bottle again. I dont think it was that bad for you and i think that people should stop doing that. I also think that they should just get a cup of water instead of buying a bottle. Tap water might or might not be healthy for us.

  23. The movie "Tapped" made me realized that tap water is the same as bottled water we are wasting out money to buy something that is no better than our home sink.

    ReplyDelete
  24. After watching both of those movies we should deffinatly becarful of where we get out water. i learned that bottle is probably worse to drink apposed to just drinking tapped water. companies that own water are kind of ripping people off they are getting to much money for their product when they barley pay anything at all to make it .

    ReplyDelete
  25. i agree with caseys comment on how we are wasting out money to buy something that is not better than our water in our sink

    ReplyDelete
  26. names nick and i think it makes me kinda mad because how can they just take all are water and then sell it back to us. how can they sell us something that is allready ours. i think that every one should stop buying bottled water and just use those aluminum bottles there better for the enviorment and smarter on our part cuz we would save lots of money

    ReplyDelete
  27. This movie has made me realize how corrupt and uncaring our country is. I had no idea that bottled water was the same as tap water, i in fact actually thought it was always so much better for you. So the fact that big business's and companies are selling substances that can be obtained by ANY american for money is disappointing and makes me think what is the world coming too... btw never refilling an empty bottle again..

    ReplyDelete
  28. After watching the movies flow & tappend it made me actually think about all of the plastic we use and its not good for our enviorment. Water companies should make poeple pay money just to buy water it shuld be free because people/animals need water to survive on, and without water we wouldnt be here.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Afer watching the two movies it made me realize how unsafe bottled water can really be. Although this will most likely not change that fact that im am going to continue drinking bottled water, it still makes me think. And i think that comapanies owning water isnt a good idea unless they are going to purify it correctly

  30. After watching Flow, I feel that water should be used as more of a resource instead of a property. Also after watching tapped, i was surprised that even the most popular bottled water's arent completely clean, and reusing bottles is a huge safety hazard.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I aslo agree with Casey in that bottled water is the same as tapped water, which brings a good point which if more people would use tap water, they can save alot more money

    ReplyDelete
  32. These movies made me feel differently about bottled water. I didn't know that bottles have unhealthy chemicals in them that can lead to illness and that bottled water is basically the same as tap water. I learned that we need to do more to conserve water for everyone.

    ReplyDelete
  33. i agree with cait 100%. what these people are doing to these animals is crazy, but we all have to thing we, use. have let them get away with this and i know not everyone hears or knows about this but its wrong and people we should know what we are eating and into our bodys people around the world should no about this but they dont so thats why we need to talk about it and try to change it. if we feel like the way we do anout this we should be able to change it and we can but if u dont feel like standing up and do something about it then nothing will change. if you put your mind to something you can do anything.

  34. I never realized any of this until after watching both of the videos. You shouldn't have to buy the water if it's the same as tap, everyone needs water to survive but if companies keep doing what their doing there's not going to be enough water.

    ReplyDelete
  35. When I saw these videos, I never really thought about how the 2 kinds of water were actually the same. At the same time though, If I've drank that kind of water for all my life and nothing's happened, I won't feel any different than I have.

    ReplyDelete
  36. These videos made me realize that bottled water is really unsafe but the reality is most people are not going to stop drinking it. i also feel like companies that do own water, need to do a better job in purifying it, to make sure its safe.

  37. These videos have shown me that water is abundant with chemical. Water is no longer a resource, it's an empire of corporate giants and billions of dollars. people who need water can even afford these outragious prices set by jerks behind desks that never really see the problem.

    ReplyDelete
  38. i agree with jake, reusing water bottles is very dangerous.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Watching these movies really opened my eyes about bottled water. Most bottled water is probably nothing more than average tap water, but just because big companies can put it in a fancy bottle, people will pay more for it.

    ReplyDelete
  40. it is tough for me to comprehend the corrupted values that these people have, lieing to billions of people, right to their faces, telling them this water is better for you, even when it might not be. Putting a price tag on water because you want to make a living off of peoples needs. water is something that people need to survive, it is not something that is sold, it is something that should be provided to the needy. i agree with coleman comepletely

    ReplyDelete
  41. after watching the videos i no longer buy the bottled water, i got a filter on my faucet so that i can save money and cost for myself. i know that my filtered water is actually cleaner than some water because of what burky said.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I think we have to be more careful about where we get our water. I never knew that it was bad for you and i think that people should stop.

    ReplyDelete
  43. after watching the videos i realized that there is no differnce at all between the spring water that you buy and the water that come out of your sink..................i agree with Ryan Burke

    ReplyDelete
  44. no it does not make me feel different bout bottle water to me baottle water is juz water to me

    ReplyDelete
  45. after watching the video i think more about what im drinking. there is no difference about water in my sink or in the bottle
